My most pressing priority is to roll out some short online snippets for a new release. My thought is this:
1) Call in one of the trainees in our office and train them on one of the features of the new release
2) Use my cool new Flip Video and record them saying something like "Hi, my name is Cathy and I will be reviewing the new Barking Widgets feature of our product with you. I think you'll love it!"
3) Have "Cathy" teach me the feature using my laptop and recording her teaching it using Camtasia.
4) Edit the video of Cathy and the video of what she taught together in one short clip and publish it.
5) Repeat with each feature with different people. I might have one person do two-four clips. I don't think this should take too long and the quality would be designed to be very informal and conversational with at least an internal audience. If we love it we could release it outside to our clients as well. Maybe some of this group have done something like that.

From an overall perspective, I have earned a post-baccalaureate certificate in Distance Ed through Penn State. I have recorded some stand-alone courses that I won't release until I can polish them. I have used Captivate, Camtasia, and some simple recording equipment to produce these courses. We also tested STT Trainer but were not ready to make that jump yet. It's a very nice tool.

For live presentations I have used WebEx Meeting, GoToMeeting, WebEx Training Center (?), and ePop.

In the LMS world I have used The Learning Manager and Moodle. A new class that I have launched at work utilizes a combination of instructor-led live training via WebEx Training Center mixed with stand-alone learning and exercises delivered via Moodle. The Pilot was very well received and the launch is waiting a free week and the completion of a couple of other priorities. Launching online learning "in our spare time" continues to present a challenge.

Welcome to all the attendees of the Oct 23 Learning Technology program. We are looking forward to meeting you all, but in the meantime, we'd like to learn a bit about you so we can make sure we deliver the content you need and want.

We'd appreciate it if you would go into each of the four discussion forums; overall, screencasting, podcasts and blogs and let us know what you have done and what you want to do. We'll make an effort to offer as many resources as possible for what you need.
