A lot of discussion here were on tools. What tools do you use? What have you seen? Please share! But one thing I will ask: Please share only the ones you have seen used in organizations, not just for personal use - because for the most part they are different (not 100%, however).
We bought our platform, but not before looking at many others' tools. Here are the ones I know of:
- Jive Software's Clearspace (internal) and Clearspace Community (external). This is the one we purchased and use. Great functionality and flexibility.
- Customer Vision's BizWiki is another great tool. The company has saved A TON of money and headaches for a number of other companies and has white papers about it.
- I saw Mzinga's solution at a couple learning conferences recently. I haven't really checked it out, but from what I can tell, it seems pretty robust.
-IBM has a number of tools I have seen demo'd that look pretty good, although I have never tried any of them myself.
- A joint effort between Intel and Spikesource, SuiteTwo combines the best of the best together.
There are others that are more standalone, like Newsgator and SocialText, but I have focused on the all-encompassing suites that aid Social Learning.
Have you heard of YouFig? It's a white label collaboration platform + social network in one. It gives you as many tools/applications/widgets as you need.
I have signed up for it, but haven't taken a deep look into it. What do you know about it? Are you involved with YouFig? Don't feel shy about posting the great things about it, even if you are an evangelist. We are looking for the best tools out there!
I'm new to learn this. I've got some basic questions to ask. What do people difine the tools of social learning? How muany kinds are there in it? We calling it social learning tools is it mainly because it is used in socioty?
